Ep 36 | Quantum Sensitivity: Reclaiming Your Rhythm from Inherited Patterns
Welcome to Rise & Realign: Conversations for the Sensitive Soul. I’m Melissa, and this space is for those of us who feel deeply, love fiercely, and sense the world in ways that are hard to explain but impossible to ignore. Here we honor your sensitivity as a strength, not something to fix.
Through reflections, realignment, and soul-led stories, we remember how to move through life in a way that feels true to who we really are. This is your space to rise, to realign, and to come home again and again to your own wise, authentic, sensitive self.
So much has happened in my world in the past week. The full moon… gosh, just so much. I hope that whatever’s going on in your world right now, that you are finding some grounding and some increase in connecting to your own breath so that you can allow your body and your ability to navigate to rest.
This journey as a sensitive soul on this earthly plane is definitely a wild ride from my experience. Maybe partly because I’m Gemini, and maybe partly because from a Human Design perspective, I also have the channel of struggle, and the gate of the fighter is my conscious moon sign. So there’s always wonderful ways that we can explore — like, why am I experiencing life this way? What phase of life am I in? What stage? There’s so much variety. But wherever you are and whatever pathways most support you, I hope that you are feeling more centered and calm within yourself.
I know I’m deeply grateful to be feeling that way. But I’ve really come to embrace this understanding of quantum sensitivity and that path of realignment.
Last week’s episode, Episode 35, was called *Quantum Sensitivity: Where Science, Soul, and Your Inner Knowing Converge. I spoke about quantum sensitivity as the bridge — moving beyond the visible into the subtle, energetic, and informational layers where science and soul meet.
As somebody who provides holistic psychotherapy services and global integrative consultations, and from the understanding that we are whole beings — mind, body, heart, and soul — when we recognize the fullness of who we really are, and again, there’s no one certain path that we are on. We each have our own soul curriculum. We’re each here to live and learn what we’ve signed up for, in a sense.
So I really want to encourage you to keep coming back to your heart, to listen to your own inner guidance, because no one else knows what’s your path — what lights you up and what makes you feel heavy. And so this really is that path of realignment: to keep coming back to you, to creating that coherence, that quantum coherence.
From my perspective and the journey that I’ve walked, I really am so honored to experience the synchronicities in my life and how much more curious my agenda is now — like, “Oh, well that was interesting timing for that storm,” or “That was interesting how that chipmunk was just kind of hanging out on my foot while I was doing my morning rituals.” Quantum sensitivity, for me, is like: let’s reel it back in. Let’s interrupt those old patterns where we’re living from old programs that we received from those who raised us, our society, our school systems, and even that ancestral lineage. It’s about waking up out of those patterns and programs so that you can recognize your own path and recognize the patterns that have been operating under the surface for you, so that you can reclaim your rhythm and what truly matters for you.
And again, this is not a linear path. When we think of remembering, releasing, reclaiming — all of this is not linear. It’s a spiral. We really do revisit. We cycle back around. And there is no specific timing for each of us, because as we start to wake up and really be more consciously present in the moment, that’s where we notice: What is my body experiencing? How is my breath? Am I holding my breath? Is there tension in my shoulders?
Many of us live with these patterns for decades, and many people leave this earthly plane and have not woken up to these patterns. And again, there’s no judgment on my part, because my understanding is that we’re all here for a divine purpose, and it’s different for each of us.
I have viewed those of us who are highly sensitive — again, not in any superior sense, but in the sense of older souls, maybe some advancement in our understanding. And that’s why maybe we get fast-tracked in the sense of maybe there is early trauma in our life, and then we are the ones who wake up faster because we are so sensitive on that quantum level to the information that’s coming. And that information comes energetically — both what’s visible and what’s invisible.
I really find it fascinating how each of our paths are so unique, but yet there are some very similar commonalities. And this is part of the reason why in my Essentials Course, *Your Sensitivity Is Intelligent Design*, I do have a module on the different life stages and ages, because there’s this awakening period which can happen for us in different ways and at different ages. So it’s understanding what that means. And then when we’re in our 20s versus 30s, 40s, 50s — there are these different developmental stages.
That’s why I just meet life where I am, and where whoever I’m talking to is. And I want to say that as a mom, and I’m a daughter too, and many other roles, I feel that motherline healing that comes through us is so powerful.
Recently I’ve experienced some resurfacing of physical symptoms in my body that brought me all the way back to when I was one year old and had my first experience with strep throat. And just recognizing a lot of things about how my life first began here on this earthly plane. But I also experienced a loved one who was having their own physical health challenges and just how that influenced me as a mom.
I vacillate — I’m in that confident, calm space of “the body’s intelligent, let’s pause, let’s listen to what the body’s communicating, let’s bring in some more deep breaths, let’s get focused and tuned in.” I use mantras and have for years, and it’s really important to understand that our body is reflecting what’s held in the mind. And we don’t know a lot of the time what those subconscious programs are — they’re under the surface. And yet you have your heart, your soul that has its own knowing.
But again, we’re such complex beings, and I’m certainly not one to say I’ve got it all figured out. I don’t think any of us ever will. But I think that I’ve definitely got into a place where I trust my body, and I’ll say things like, “I love and listen to my body as it changes,” because we are never in the same place. We’re not physically ever in the same place. And I mean that in all aspects. So my body’s constantly changing. It’s doing its magic in and around me in its own very intelligent ways, and it’s communicating to me when something… and again, you can view this the way you view it, but I see discomfort that comes up in my body as: “Okay, something is ready to surface that lets me know I’m ready to release this past belief, this past imprinting, whatever it is.” And I don’t have to go chasing it.
I think that’s been a really powerful shift in my life — that quantum sensitivity and understanding this wholeness in the communication that is there. Because old ways of approaching health, I’ll call them scares, because I had my own health scare last week, and a loved one did too. And it’s just like… it really is this conscious presence to be with what the body is communicating in that moment.
And when we rush in — when the fear feels so strong that we’re like, “I need to go to the doctor, I might die,” whatever comes up for us — that is that old programming, or even you can call it your ego, whatever part of your mind you label it. It’s trying to protect you, trying to keep you safe. And that is important. But we also want to know that you have your own inner knowing.
And so when… again, you want to trust. Like if your intuition is saying, “I need an ambulance or I need to go to the doctor immediately,” you honor that because that communication comes through clearly too. But sometimes it’s really obvious for us to recognize the fear that’s there.
So again, it’s like rewiring. For me, something old came to revisit with the pain level. And I’ve come to see, like, “Okay, this is something that’s moving through me. This is something that’s ready to be felt. This old imprint, this old belief, this old patterning from my parents, their parents, whoever.”
And that’s what’s really important to understand. Like, if you’re somebody who’s really listening to these episodes and you feel resonance with what I say, it’s likely that you are also on this awakening path and understanding this quantum sensitivity. And again, we’re in the minority, and that’s why I really created this Essentials Course — because we are in the minority, and so we’ve been schooled, we’ve been raised, we’ve been around a lot of people who might not understand that level of sensitivity because it’s wired in our nervous system.
And again, I see it as that advanced soul who’s here to wake up and to become that conscious creator. I personally can say that it doesn’t happen overnight. I woke up to my eternal nature and the love and the light and the bliss and the beauty, but it didn’t make all of the process go away.
So I really want you to see that wherever you are on your journey, it’s really perfect for you. And I’ve said on other episodes: you are perfect. And I know some people maybe think, “How can she say that?” But what I really mean is, you are perfect for where you are on your journey, for who you are here to be.
And even if we are looking at the heaviness, I really want to speak to that too, because I’ve certainly gone through what I call the dark night of the soul. I felt like there were so many — there wasn’t just one dark night, and there were some periods that felt really, really long for me. And that’s why I will often reference David Hawkins’s Map of Consciousness.
When we’re down in the fear, the shame, the guilt — when we’re going through some massive changes, which again, my own spiritual journey brought massive changes. I also went through a divorce that I didn’t think I would ever do, but I was guided to do that. And again, the compression, the confusion that comes when our life takes us in a direction that is scary.
So quantum sensitivity is helping us to understand the way sensitive souls are wired to perceive more. And we know that science is supporting our understanding — the quantum field, quantum entanglement. There’s so much that we can understand. Like, oh my gosh, you’ve probably maybe you haven’t, but there’s like the Telepathy Tapes podcast, right? The way we can communicate with each other, the way people communicate with those who have passed. All of this is happening, but not all of us see it.
So my invitation to you is to really come back to your breath, to your heart, and to just be curious. What comes up for you when we talk about mind, body, and soul? How do you understand what your body communicates to you? What do you understand about what your mind is communicating to your body? And what about what your soul is communicating to your mind and your body?
Again, we are whole beings, but many of us, especially those of us who are highly sensitive, are not necessarily raised in a way to honor our connection — our wholeness in the sense of that mind, body, soul connection, but also our connection to all that is. And again, there’s no one right way. There are so many different experiences, and that’s what we’re here to have — very unique experiences because that invites so much contrast, but it also gives us the opportunity to keep fine-tuning: What is true and best for you, moment by moment?
I see the contrast — whether that’s through a relationship challenge — what might that be revealing for us? What is this revealing for me? Not necessarily about me, because I’m certainly aware that many can question themselves, doubt themselves. It’s quite the winding path that many of us experience because, as highly sensitive individuals, we have this complex inner world. We have this heightened interoception — our awareness of so many things is often overwhelming. And this being an innate survival strategy, we’ve all adapted these strategies that may have served us for a short time. But if we’ve carried them forward, they’re not serving us now.
So I just want you to be curious about what really serves you.
I love to hear from listeners, and I’m always so honored to support women. I see you as sensitive and strong women, and oftentimes it’s hard to see that within yourself. And that’s where I feel as though I’m really here to mirror back to sensitive and strong women how amazing you truly are, how your gifts are so, so needed, and to just help navigate through the challenges and the blessings — moving from when we get stressed back into when we get rest. We need to have that rhythmic balance.
Because we can’t be going full on all the time and thinking about things and consuming content or just being busy, go-go-go, and giving to everybody else. We need to find our own rhythm so that there is balance. And you taking care of you is always number one, but from my experience, that’s not how we’re raised here in America, most of us.
And I know there’s no generalization because I’m so grateful that there’s such a large number of families who are not sending their children to, say, public schools or structured learning environments. Because especially as highly sensitive individuals — and even Dr. Elaine Aron, the research psychologist for the sensory processing sensitivity trait, she talks about whether it’s homeschooling a child or whether it’s being an entrepreneur — you’ve got this innate survival strategy where you’re taking in more information, you can process it more deeply, you can come up with great ideas.
I mean, I have been an entrepreneur since my second child was born. So that was 2001. And the freedom that it gave me to just explore more of what excites me — which is how I’m now talking about quantum sensitivity. My mental health career started at 19, but it’s come full circle to include the mind, the body, the soul, the quantum field. And there’s just so much greatness and so much beauty and synchronicities that show up when we are actually fully present to notice that.
So I invite you to return to your breath, to your body, to what feels true for you right now.
Let’s take a break and breathe love together. I invite you wherever you are — be safe if you happen to be listening while you’re driving or need to be paying attention, perhaps do a simplified version. But wherever you are, feel the support underneath you, whether you’re standing, sitting, or lying down. Just feel yourself supported. Tuning into your body and its support.
And I invite you to just rub your hands together. You know, the electricity that moves through our body, those electrons of light in our fingers — touch is so powerful. And I really want you to connect with that power within yourself. So rubbing your hands together. And when you feel ready, just separating them just enough where you can feel that sensation moving through your hands.
Then I invite you to place one hand on your heart, and the other hand wherever your body is calling for it. Again, some people feel tension in their neck, their shoulders, their forehead, their back — wherever that may be. Really want you to breathe into the space beneath each of your hands. Just knowing that as you inhale, you are receiving more love and light. And then as you’re exhaling, you are releasing tension, what’s not yours to carry.
I invite you to take a double inhale — so the first inhale is deep, second one just tops it off. Long spine. Exhale through your mouth, long and slow. And again, you are releasing, you are relaxing, you are letting go.
I invite you to continue at your own pace. Just remembering, there’s nothing you need to fix. It’s about noticing what’s here right now.
Where the heart leads, the body remembers, and the soul awakens.
So tuning into your heart space, giving yourself some moments of silence where you can just take a break, breathe love, and listen.
As a reminder, we are here together to rise, reclaim, remember.
And as always, I’m so grateful you’re here. You are so important, and your voice and presence matters.
And if you’d like to walk this sensitive and strong, realigned path with me, you’re always welcome to explore everything that I offer at realignwithmelissa.com.
Take good care of you. Much love and light.
