Where Intention Meets the Nervous System

Jan 19, 2026

January 19, 2026 • Waxing Crescent • A gentle settling after the New Moon

Dear Beautiful,

I hope whereever you are reading this your breath slows and deepens. I am writing from my heart to yours from the Pacific coast where I returned to the other day. It’s now the morning after the New Moon. Not even a full day has passed.

This is the tender space. The place where something new has been named, but not yet shaped. Where the nervous system hasn’t caught up to the intention. Where the body is still listening.

If you feel quieter than usual, or less clear, or not ready to act, nothing is wrong. This phase isn’t about doing. It’s about noticing what wants to come with you, and what is ready to be left behind.

The waxing crescent doesn’t ask for answers yet. It asks for honesty. For gentleness. For small, true movements instead of big declarations.

For sensitive women, this window matters. Your system needs time to register change before it can embody it.

Today is not for pushing forward. It’s for orienting inward. For letting the body speak before the mind decides.

Some women reading this may not know that I’ve been educating and writing about sensitivity and the nervous system over the past decade or so. Others may have found the words before and forgotten them.

I will be including reminders from the nine part Highly Sensitive Series found on my blog. This first part of our series focuses on the mind, helping you to understand and nurture the unique way your mind processes the world around you.

If you’re in a season of re-orientation, especially after the New Moon, this may meet you exactly where you are.

Highly Sensitive Series: Part 1 of 9: Embracing the Depths of Your Inner World (Mind Series 1 of 3)

From Last Week's Conversation

Rise & Realign: Conversations for the Sensitive Soul, Episode 11: Breath, Safety, and the Highly Sensitive Nervous System

This episode is a gentle reminder that your sensitivity is not a flaw. It is a form of intelligence and a depth of caring. Also what it means to have a highly sensitive nervous system, how sensitivity is often confused with introversion, how stress and sensory overload impact sensitive people and why breath is essential for nervous system safety and regulation.

New episodes of Rise & Realign: Conversations for the Sensitive Soul are released each Wednesday at 4:44 PM Pacific. An invitation to take a break and breathe love.

Reflection

  • Where in my life am I still leaning forward, even as my body is asking to settle?

  • If I trusted that clarity will come later, what would I allow myself to do less of today?

Deeper Support

If you are sensing that this season is asking for deeper listening and support, there are gentle ways to be accompanied.

Closing Blessing

May you trust what is still forming. May you give your body the time it needs to catch up to your intention. May you remember that small, honest movements are enough for now.

As this waxing crescent grows, may you listen more than you decide, rest more than you push,
and let what is true reveal itself in its own time.

You are not behind. You are right where something new is beginning.

I’d love to know what this moment is clarifying for you. You’re always welcome to reply and share what you’re noticing.✨

If this reflection felt supportive, feel free to pass it along to another sensitive woman who may need the same reminder today.

We rise together when we pause, breathe, and realign with love.

With moon and heart,

Melissa
